It seems like technology has just exploded over the past few decades. Computers and cell phones changed our lives forever. In addition, ID card printers began to find a home in businesses around the world. What? You did not know about the ID card printers? Well then, it looks like we have some catching up to do. Whereas iPods and iPads have altered our lives; printers have altered the operational life of a business. Take the Fargo printer series for example; where excellence is expected and delivered on a daily basis. These printers are designed to take a business from yesterday into tomorrow.

The badge printer explosion, which of course includes the Fargo brand, has made the identification process more affordable and definitely more precise. Badges and ID cards have been around for a while but there was a time; although it seems ancient now, when these items had to be produced by a third party. They had to be; forgive me for saying this word, outsourced. You heard me correctly. These cards had to be outsourced. The process took time and most of all it took money. The printing companies made the cost a little easier to bear in bulk; but for the small business the process was costly and bothersome.

In addition to outsourcing be a costly burden; it also removed the empowerment of quality control from the business. If a card came back wrong; it had to be shipped back out and corrected. All the business could do was wait for it to be returned and hope it would be corrected properly. Then someone got the long overdue bright idea that printers could be produced for the business office. The business entrepreneur could implement their very own identification card process right in their own domain. The Fargo Printer series was one of many brands that flourished with the new concept. Before long; Fargo had designed a printer to fit just about any need or expectation. A new era had begun.

Fargo knew what entrepreneurs were looking for in a badge printer. They knew that businesses were looking for quality, plenty of features, and most of all, affordability. The Fargo line offers some of the best printers on the market. One of the most popular is the Fargo Pro-LX Plastic Photo ID Card Printer. Anytime the business entrepreneur is seeking a printer that is extremely capable; displays outstanding reliability, and is a card printer/encoder with laminating capabilities, the Fargo unit rules. This unit can produce 120 single sided, laminated cards in one hour.

The birth of card printing technology placed quality control into the hands of the business entrepreneur. The ability to produce outstanding color cards right in the office on a great compact identification card printer became a much appreciated reality. New or replacement cards could be created in seconds. Safety and security were clearly enhanced by improving the identification process. What is new today; may very well be old news tomorrow, but printer manufacturers like Fargo are always on the edge of technology. Today printers can produce plastic ID cards programmed with bar codes, magnetic stripes and smart chips. These features can store incredible amounts of information. These cards can be used for financial purposes, like credit cards, or for access control requirements. Printer technology has made it all possible.
